DPW Northeast Meeting to Present on Proposed Water Rate Changes

On January 11, 2025 the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) attended the Northeast Community Organization (NECO) meeting to gather public feedback on proposed water rate hikes. Presentation slides shared during the meeting are included below.

Join DPW in January to Learn More and Share Your Input!

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) will host and participate in several community meetings this month to discuss proposed water rate changes. These meetings offer residents an opportunity to engage directly with DPW Director Khalil Zaied and staff, gain a deeper understanding of the proposed changes, and share their input. DPW is committed to fostering transparency and collaboration with the community. “We want to ensure that residents are fully informed and feel supported throughout this process,” said DPW Director Khalil Zaied. “Your input is invaluable as we work to maintain the sustainability of our water, wastewater, and stormwater systems for future generations.”


During these meetings, residents will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the proposed rate changes.

  • Ask questions directly to DPW representatives.

  • Explore available assistance programs.

During the meetings, DPW representatives will provide an overview of the proposed rate increases, highlighting the critical infrastructure upgrades and enhanced service reliability they will support. They will also share information about assistance programs designed to help residents manage any potential cost impacts.


Residents are encouraged to attend and bring questions or concerns about the proposed changes. Residents who are not able to attend in person can still share their comments through an online form.
